Three Yorkie puppies, and everything after
Mike Fisher first started raising puppies when he was twelve years old. Here is how it started, as Mike tells it.
When I was twelve years old my father came home with three Yorkie puppies, one male and two females. They quickly became family pets, but we also bred them to produce puppies. I learned I had a passion for raising puppies, and for connecting families with their new canine family member.
After moving away from the home farm where I was raised, and starting a family of our own, we decided we would like to breed dogs as well. Today we focus on Yorkies, of course, and bulldogs.
I think bulldogs appealed to me because of the hard work and dedication it takes to breed them. It makes it all the more rewarding when we manage to raise a healthy litter.
One of the highlights of being a dog breeder is connecting them with loving families. The sheer delight on everyone's face after opening the door and seeing the whole crew come charging, that is rewarding.
Raising puppies takes the whole family. Our children start handling them at a young age.
We like to feed high quality feed. A vet examines every puppy at six weeks.
